Which is... what, exactly?
Last I checked, the manga hasn't really concluded much since the anime ending except Aladdin's past.

Anything regarding Hakuryuu. He seemed like he would be the focal point of the new arc.

I think they're just starting to get into Hakuryuu with the most recent chapters. There's a pretty huge gap between the anime end and there.

Yeah, this whole Solomon thing looks like it may take a while.

Personally, I'm alright with the anime writers taking great liberties in order to get out a complete show in a timely fashion. Sure, sometimes they screw it up terribly, but better to try and make a show great than having to rely on another season that may or may not be coming. Granted, I can only think of 1 major show I enjoyed that went this route, but there may be others I am not aware of as I don't really read manga.

Anyone else think the current season is also a little bland? I can think of a few shows I'm really enjoying, like Gugure!, SHIROBAKO, & Mushi-Shi, but just so many shows I've started and have little desire to continue.

There are always the shows that end up being so, but I have usually found myself more willing to sit through more in the past. Nothing in my lifestyle has changed, so I just wondered if the shows this season really were just more mediocre than usual.

I think this season is exceptional.
Edit: To expand on that, I'm watching Inou Battle, Shingeki no Bahamut, Trinity Seven, Chaika, Daitoshokan, Parasyte, Shigatsu, WIXOSS, Log Horizon, SAO, F/SN, Gugure, Akame ga Kill, Seven Deadly Sins, Amagi Brilliant Park, Twintails, Madan no ou to Vanadis, Cross Ange and like maybe something else I've forgotten.
Obviously, some of these aren't all that great, but I consider Inou Battle, Parasyte, Shigatsu and Amagi to all be great, and a lot of others are entertaining in their own respects.

I completely forgot about Shigatsu. Love a good music themed anime.

My list of what I am, or in this case should be, watching is a little larger. At close to 40, seems like larger percentage of the shows I am watching are just bland than in previous seasons. Girl Friend Beta, Orenchi no Furo Jijo, Celestial Method, World Trigger, & Denki-gai come to mind as shows that just started off dull and kept at it, though I will admit my dislike of Denki-Gai may be more a dislike of the entire otaku centric comedy rather than actual mediocrity. Others, like Cross Ange and Wolf Girl & Black Prince, were explosively hooking at that first episode, but got dull almost right after. It just seems to me that there is a lot more bland this season.

If you like music themed anime, you should watch Mekakucity Actors. It's basically an anime where they took a bunch of good music and decided they wanted to make it into an anime. As a result the music is VERY VERY good. The story? Well it's .... unique. It had a beginning. And it had an ending. But C doesn't necessarily follow A and sometimes B gets lost along the way and **** it I am rhyming here. Um... the story was actually pretty good once you knew what it was about episode 9 or so. Before that? Well the show was entertaining. AND it had good music.

It's pretty saddening when Mekakucity gets brought up as a music related anime.
It really isn't. It seems tied to music only because it was adapted from music videos. It is not music related.
Off the top of my head, I've only watched Nodame Cantabile, Beck, and Kids on the Slope.
I like Shigatsu as well.

Just noticed CR has the entire catalog of One Piece. Good thing I don't have a life.

This catches my attention. I doubt I'd watch it from the beginning, but it would be cool to see, say, the last 50 episodes or so leading up to where the Toonami dub currently is.

Okay, after seeing what are recap episodes in the Toonami dub (which is no longer airing the 4Kids dub), and seeing things which I definitely don't remember seeing years ago (and thoroughly enjoying it), I might just go ahead and watch the whole damn thing.

I don't remember a lot of it either from the early days of the dub. Definitely another one for me where sub wins out.

:( One piece is.........

To be blunt, it is a VERY LONG show. And every arc can be summed up by "Adventures adventures -> Luffy does something stupid but funny -> Someone is in trouble -> Luffy does some really stupid stuff -> Battle -> Luffy saves the day -> maybe they get a new crew member".

Yes, a ton of other stuff happens. But a ton of other stuff happens in Dragonball Z and Bleach and Fairy Tale as well. I enjoy the journey..... but I wouldn't recommend watching the whole thing in one go. The number of episodes it takes to go through this cycle increases almost every time... but every time I pick up One Piece again I kind of know how the current story is going to end.

Edit: :( I kind of feel like I spoiled the show there.

I can't imagine many people would be deeply offended you spoiler the formula for the storytelling of one piece.

As for doing it in one sitting, that would probably be impossible at this point. I'll just probably go with a few episodes a day and see where it takes me. I'm definitely not expecting any real resolution and who knows, maybe I'll end up delightfully surprised for not expecting it.

:( I was responding to LLIM talking about, and I quote, "going ahead and watching the whole **** thing." You, I was not worried about. :) :( Just a heads up about something that really threw me. The one piece dub switches voice actors in the direct middle for a little bit. I don't remember if they switched back or not, but I could swear several people's voices changed drastically and I was thrown by it. :) Definitely the sub is better anyways.

I like(d) One Piece because there were scenes that actually made me cry.
But it just got to be so long that I stopped caring about it.

I'm almost past the parts of One Piece I saw televised so long ago. So exciting, heading toward these unseen episodes.
