Yeah I could watch like a myriad of shows in the time it would take me to get through Gintama.
I don't know where you heard they are making more, but I'm pretty sure it's wrong. afaik, the anime went about up to where the manga is, and the author hasn't worked on it for a rather lengthy period now.

I don't remember where I read it, but I remember originally looking up why no new episodes where out and finding out about the author's health issues (something about his heart I think), and then stumbling across something, about 7 months ago, that mentioned he was considering getting back into writing the series in the near future. I spoke a little too optimistically up there. Even the article, or whatever it was I read, made it seem unlikely to come to fruition.

I finished One Punch Man and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I like that it made fun of typical fighting Anime tropes and the characters were surprisingly likable.

Watched the first episode of Gintama and so far I'm not impressed...the characters and the humor annoyed me, but I'll keep giving it a shot to see if it grows on me.

I'm not typically one to suggest comedies but Assassination Classroom might be too good to ignore. It's been a very long time since a show has made me laugh as a hard as AC has and it even has a halfway cohesive story line to go with it.

From what I've heard, Gintama starts pretty poorly.

I wouldn't have expected anyone to recommend AssClass, at least not based on the comedy. I think it's fine, but nothing extraordinary.
It's the type of show I appreciate watching when I am keeping up with seasonal stuff, but I wouldn't put it as a highlight of the season.

I find myself getting picky in my old age.
I watched several episodes of nanana's buried treasure, and at first the characters were interesting. Then everyone got kinda distant and had dramatic secrets and betrayals and most of the charm of the series disappeared.

Flying Witch is pretty comfy in a laid back sort of pace, but the characters aren't that memorable, and don't really drive the story all that much. I probably will continue to watch it from time to time, but it doesn't really grab my interest in a meaningful way.

Anne-happy is cute and I am rooting for the girl who is in life with the construction sign, but it feels too gag-driven. Having watched five episodes, i feel like I have already seen 90% of what happens in the season.

Eto-tama is interesting, except for the main character girl, and the battle animation style. I am rooting for every character other than that cat-girl, which is unfortunate because the cat girl is required by plot to defeat each one.

I find Flying Witch pretty enjoyable. It's super comfy.

Nanana started interesting and failed to deliver, and Anne Happy does get kind of repetitive with its jokes, so you're not an outlier there. I know nothing about Etotama.

I guess what I'm saying is, I would like to get to know and like the characters more before they spend an episode almost wordlessly following a cat.

I just finished Aldnoah Zero. All in all I'd say it was pretty enjoyable. Good story and good music. Nothing I'd say is spectacularly new and could have used a bit more character development, but it is worth a watch.

It's really not worth a watch.

Inaho had such an appealing character design, and I liked where he seemed to be going in the initial episodes, egg memes included.
but no

BUT NO
Red eyes really appeal to me.

I watched Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo. It started off pretty well, but didn't manage to maintain it's image very well. Jin Russell a qt though.

I just watched a video recommending that today so I added it to the list. Why the second and more emphatic denial?

It was a continuation of the last post. I didn't feel like I stated my dismay at how the show portrayed Inaho to an appropriate extent, so I rectified it.

Haha, well...he was a bit of a blank slate to begin with. The show did drop the ball on character development though. Kinda all over the place, but Inaho was an enjoyable character. Very Ender-esque.

I'm on Episode 13 of Guilty Gear now and trudging through. Episodes 9-11 were pretty awesome, but the rest of the series has been lackluster thus far. They could have had a very interesting plot pitting two not-quite-evil, not-quite-good factions against each other but it feels like they chickened out and tried to rectify it with tiny moments here and there rather than committing to a full on "Good Guys vs. Bad Guys" theme. Oh well, I don't have much hope for the rest, especially since Ep. 13 seems to be starting out as filler...in a 24 episode series...

Ok I finished:
The Perfect Insider - A mystery anime with a WEIRD story. All in all I enjoyed it though. The characters were interesting and it had a good mood to the mystery.
Prison School - Because I'm a disgusting human being. Generally terrible although it got fairly comical in the second half.

Now watching Kino's Journey which feels a bit like Mushishi so far, but is interesting.

Ok, finished
Kino's Journey - Very interesting story and the character was likeable. Worth a watch but it didn't quite live up to its hype for me.
Space Dandy - Felt like a cross between Cowboy Bebop and Adventure Time. There were two really good episodes but the rest was mediocre. It was visually awesome though.
Gangsta - Pretty good and it was just starting to get interesting when...oh, there aren't anymore episodes...damn...

Speaking of things just suddenly getting interesting when they are ending, anyone else seen ReLIFE yet? It's weird that probably one of the best shows of the summer season is already over unless you're adhering to a weekly schedule because you actually watch the live Japanese broadcasts on television.

I haven't seen ReLife, also I don't watch things episodically anymore, Netflix and George RR Martin have ruined my patience and trust. I take it ReLife has another season?

Although I guess to make myself a liar I did just watch Gangsta and BTOOOM! without realizing the stories would continue beyond what was already available.

BTOOOM! is okay. I like the Battle Royale/Most Dangerous Game type stories, but BTOOOM! can't seem to decide if it wants to make its psychological points based on the present scenario people are in or their pasts. They also seem to go to the most basic level of cause/effect emotional situations rather than having much nuance. I mean, things explode though, so thats cool.

Finished Angel Beats too. It definitely falls into the category of getting interesting as its ending. There were some good moments in the show, and I really enjoyed Yui as a character. All in all though its not something I'd say people need to watch.

Now I'm watching The Devil is a Part Timer.

No, it started last week and it was entirely available from day 1. It's a bit of an unusual thing.

Hope they get a season 2 out someday. I read that there wasn't enough source material to work with at this point, though, so probably will be a while out if ever.
