Because I like reading books more than I like reading subs.

Who reads subs anyway?

But yeah, lately I've been starting to read some manga as well because of some adaptions that I heard were a lot better as manga. Especially Yumekui Merry.

Elfen Lied was the first manga I ever read. Dropped it after 15 chapters because it was a tad too depressing for me at the time.
Then someone linked me Addicted to Curry and it was quite enjoyable.
At the moment I've just got Berserk on the back burner indefinitely

Yeah berserk is annoying. It's super good than goes on hiatus, comes back and is still enjoyable for me but you can see that it's going downhill, then hiatus again.

That sounds kinda like Megatokyo to me. :V
But my main issue is that I'm just too lazy to read manga or webcomics, even. *shrug*

I read a lot of fairly popular stuff. My regulars at the moment are Naruto (which I've been reading since way back in the day), One Piece (also a long haul but still loving every minute of it), and High School of the Dead (which I wish was more regular). Completed series include FLCL, FMA, Air Gear, Kare Kano and Zombie Powder. Probably the only series I've abandoned is Bleach. Nothing against the series on the whole, but after the second major arch, I just couldn't take another reset. It felt like a natural closing point, so I simply chose not to read on further.

One of these days I'm going to catch up on Case Closed. I swear.

I have a manga collection and I mostly prefer reading manga than watching the anime. Like One Piece, I don't watch the anime (and I generally avoid animes that has a lot lot lot of episodes, eg. Naruto) even though I watch OP short clips on youtube. Somehow, I just feel the animation doesn't does justice to Oda's artwork.

I am probably the only person I know of who waits for the books to be released rather than reading them online, the only exception I can think off from the top of my head is Pokemon Adventures.

I never read them online. I prefer to hold a book in my hands.

I finished High School of the Dead and occasionally remember to read Cradle of Monsters.

I haven't start on the gen IV one though. I pretty much skipped to the short segments for B&W.
