YMtC has grown beyond contests and games. The communal setbuilding aspect of the forum has significantly increased over the past nine months or so. People playtested Riorvard's Velicta block (and will be doing so again ere long), NGA Masters is a thing, and Sagathia is undergoing playtesting as we speak. So, though I post this thread for Starstill's cause, I hardly expect Starstill to dominate this subforum I'm proposing in the same way most of the Community Sets subforum is made up of Starstill threads. Many projects have happened that could have used something like what I'm about to describe, some are happening now, and there will be more to come.

Basically, I want to post an ICD thread for every card in Starstill, but this would not work without a subforum specifically for discussion and development of the NGA YMtC constructed format. It could be simply called "Custom ICDs". It would be a catch-all for anything that fits in neither YMtC nor Community Sets, and would be a convenient place for CKY to manage a NGA Masters spoiler.

Alternatively, the Community Sets subforum could be renamed "Community Sets: Design" and then this new one could be called "Community Sets: Development"

Please let me know if this can happen. If it can, I'll write up a post to serve as the sticky forum intro asap.

I feel like a "custom ICDs" forum would imply that it's for any ICD, which is a large part of what YMtC already is. I think what we actually need is to separate out the BCP-style projects from individuals making sets. especially since about half the forum is doing the latter in the main area anyway.

Yeah wouldn't it make more sense to have a subforum dedicated specifically to NGA Constructed? Then there could be discussion of overall metagames, discussion of power level errata (like it makes no sense in an intangible medium to ban stuff when we can just add to a mana cost you know?), and stuff like that alongside ICD stuff.

Also we have an entire wiki that could be used for ICDs. Like there's this whole resource technologically that no one but M:EM really is using.

Hey everybody, just wanted to say that we're having a staff discussion about this currently and we will keep you updated. Please put any and all input as we are always looking for creative solutions to problems.

I'm currently not leaning one way or the other, but I didn't want to keep everybody in the dark. We are taking time to figure this out.
