Is there a way to actually set my interface to show timestamps in my own local time, rather than the board time? I was having a look through board preferences and couldnt find anything.

Don't worry; if you do so few stupid things that your standard for "making an idiot of yourself" includes not noticing a configuration option buried in your settings, it probably means you're in fairly good shape.
