so I was just checking my PMs and saw this:
3 private messages were removed due to private message filters.
what exactly does that mean?

If you go to your PMbox and click "Rules, Folders & Settings" on the left, are there any rules defined? If not, see if "Delete oldest messages" is chosen for "If folder is full". That might lead to the message you're seeing, if your mailbox is, uh, full. |

That might lead to the message you're seeing, if your mailbox is, uh, full. oh. it is full. it's been full for a long time, I just never saw that before. or at least never noticed it, but it coincided with getting 3 new PMs so that explanation makes plenty of sense.
