Was the site down for anyone else just now?

I got this message when trying to reload the main page:
Quote:
Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

I got it around 14:25 CST (I believe -6:00 GMT). It was down for about an hour.

For some reason, the board index is telling me I have unread posts in the Magic: Expanded Multiverse board, but when I go there, none are marked as unread. I believe I have been in all of the topics there, so I am not sure what the issue would be.

I get that same problem quite a fair bit too. Not sure what's causes it. I usually just hit the 'mark forums read' button on the index page - clears it right up. Of course that's assuming you've already read everything you wanted.

Unless there is some sort of limit on [mc] tags that I'm not aware of, which should not be the case because the ones that aren't working are in-between two working ones, there is a bug in this post, which I just created the thread for minutes ago.

You might have to scroll down a ways to see it -- it's under the section of Races, where I placed mana tags after each race's name for presentation's sake. The tags next to Viashino and Rattlers are not working.

I believe you're missing a "/" in there:

Change the second to "[/mc]" and it should be good.

I know this isn't exactly a bug, but I didn't know were else to put it.
I get emails whenever someone sends me a pm. How do I turn this function off?

  1. Open your User Control Panel (link in top-right corner of each page).
  2. Click "Board Preferences"
  3. Find the "Notify me on new private messages" option and set it to No.

The site has stopped logging me in automatically each time I visit. It does so if I have logged in and visited relatively recently, but about once a day under no pattern I can understand it decides to ignore the fact that I keep checking that little box.

Have you tried clearing your cache? I don't know if it'll help, but it won't hurt and sometimes does solve these sort of weird things.

nested sblocks don't seem to work properly. see this post for an example. (see next post)

actually, found a work-around. while I can't nest sblocks in sblocks, I can nest sblocks in spoilers. still, should be able to do it with just the one tag, but right now it looks like this:

stuff

when it should look like this:

stuff

and either way I doubt I can nest three down like this. let's test!

stuff

ok it looks like alternating down stays stable. or maybe the spoiler tags just work differently from sblocks and thus can nest stably while sblocks can't?

stuff

yeah looks like that's it. sblock tags and spoiler tags behave differently in relation to nestability.

on a global announcement, when I click that little arrow-page icon that's supposed to take me to the first unread post, it just takes me to the OP.

Works as intended for me every time. Are you giving the page time to load?

just double checked, I definitely am. I'll wait til the announcement thread gets to two pages and see what happens then.
