With the corporate message board shutting down there are groups that are in search of a home. I admit what is left over there isn't much but I think it can add some value here. Though it is going to be hard to get them to come without a "home". Also I think that given a new home with better interactive forum UI could help it to come back. Not to mention not needing a password with 20 characters including uppercase, lowercase, numeric, and special characters (.,!@#$%^&*). For those who have not been back to the old place that is an "and" not an "or".

While there is some overlap in topics of regular magic I feel that there is enough topics specific to the online client that it would be nice to have its own place. Some such examples are the economy and special online only events. An example is for a limited time there are cube drafts happening as I type this.

There were thoughts of it being organized under some "Digital" category. Could possibly also move the Duels of the Planeswalker forums under such a category as well. Though the duels was more of an thought than a suggestion.

This is also getting some publicized attention (http://puremtgo.com/articles/state-program-september-25th-2015 ) which might come positively this communities way if it was the new home of the last outcasts.

Thank you for your time.

While I lack the authority to make official commitments on the subject, I can tell you that the topic is already being discussed among the mods, and responses seem favorable. There are some details that need to be hammered out but I suspect we will see one relatively soon.

Thanks,
Lazarus

This is a great idea. I hope NGA decides in favor of it.

It would also be the natural home for the shuffler thread ;)

Is there a thread on the motherboard about NGA's potential as a home for Magic Online? When the first boardpocalypse happened, resulting in this site, we basically went back and forth with a number of communities getting a plan in order in advance that allowed us to pull whole crews over en mass. If you really want to push this, it might help if you can get a strong show of support for the plan on the motherboard itself.

I've already thrown my voice in support of NGA in both the paper and MTGO forum. It might be more attractive to the MTGO folk if there were a separate forum, but I wasn't going to waltz in here and say make a forum just because I happened to finally start posting.

I mean, that seems like a good enough reason. I already promised Adeyke we'd make them a rules forum and fill it with activity. not that I can keep that promise, but it's the thought that counts, right?

I'll just ask a bunch of questions I already know the answers to.
And then answer them myself.

You asked and we answered, enjoy your new forum.

I will be the mod there for the time being until we can assign a mod who has a greater interest in MTGO.

Man, we're adding quite a few forums lately. Any guesses on which will be demanded next?

I should start sucking people on here into Fallen London/Sunless Sea so we have an excuse to create a board for that :P

I mean I've sucked about 14 people into the game on Tumblr so don't underestimate my ability to act as typhoid mary here

It'd be nice to have some more games of other sorts on these boards, really. Hearthstone is a good start, I think

sunless sea was pretty sexy and pretty boring

Fallen London is really cool, but I can't play games that cut me off. I meant to get Sunless Sea next time it was on sale on Steam, but I keep forgetting.

I've yet to pick up Sunless Sea but I've had it on my radar since launch. I also notice it regularly goes on sale for like 40% off. Of course, this is on GOG and Humble rather than Steam, so take from that what you will. I have no intention of buying it through Steam when I do.

I mean neither game is right if you're looking for constant action but they've got some of the most fantastic writing I've seen in anything and lore that in my opinion has enough room to allow for an Expanded Multiverse project, which is really most of what I look for in games.

They're slow and atmospheric, and I honestly like that about them.

Also they allow me to make extremely self destructive decisions which is great.

Luna if you start playing Fallen London you should add me, I'll give you rats. ... That's better than it sounds I swear.
