I just tried to do a search for a set of words that I know appears in at least one post (I was trying to check if a thing had been used before), and it told me no suitable matches were found. I then, as a test, searched for the name of my ongoing YMtC contest series, and while it found plenty of results, the most recent was in January. that timing lines up with when we had that big spike in lag, so maybe something about the fix for that accidentally broke the search database and it stopped updating?

I just searched Lost and the most recent result was Lost Tribes Foxes back in May of last year- viewtopic.php?f=17&t=28061&p=733792&hilit=lost#p733792
and I've done several more Lost Tribes contests since then.

Same thing searching for posts titled "tribes".
And of course "tribe" without the "s" only returns threads that have tirbe without an S. seperate issue, but annoying

It's possible! phpBB's search is, uh, pretty poorly implemented*, and I'd totally believe that it stopped working for some reason.

There's a button I can click to regenerate the database. I'll go click it; it'll probably slow stuff down for a little while, but hopefully things will be better once it finishes.

* the database table containing the search index is about 50% larger that the table containing the text of every post ever made, and search still sucks.

All right! Reindexing is (finally!) complete; searching for "tribes" turns up results from a few days ago. Let us know if you continue to (not) see results you expect!

I thought it would be cool to switch it up with some original art.
