Nobody replied to this and kept on having the fight as thought there was a fight to be fought:
I'm okay with 3CM being moved back into Magic General at this point because I would rather have people posting even if it's slightly off topic. It's still related to Magic anyway. Let's give it a go in General because if the thread dies, it wasn't meant to be anyway. I don't know if 3cm would be better off with a fresh start or moving the thread over. But let's be flexible and try different things.
Huzzah! Thanks, Slobad!
I don't know the mod hierarchy all that well, but I don't think Slobad has the authority to unilaterally approve that. I think they were just voicing their opinion on the subject.
The mods and community managers do different jobs but in the end since we're pretty small we all work together making decisions. Technically I have the ability to approve this without the input of others but I don't think I have to do this now. Last time we had a big decisions on this I was swayed to have 3CM in posting games and if it didn't work out we could move it back or come up with another solution to this. I think for sake of experimentation, we should move 3CM into general and see how it performs over a period that is similar to the time that 3CM spent in posting game section. If it fails in both areas, it's a product of the community not fully wanting to play, and if it succeeds that means more people are posting on the forum which is also good.
There is potential in myself being at fault for not doing enough, or much of anything, to raise awareness in the Magic sections to branch out into other areas of the forum. I take the blame for that, but I don't want threads that have the potential to draw people to use the forum consistently to die.
I would rather have new 3CM threads created in Magic General and see how it goes from there. If more problems arise, we can work together to find solutions. I think everybody has brought up good points on why 3CM should stay or move but I think it's most important that we have an open dialogue in which we can do things that are best for the community.
